SPPU’s Botany Dept conducts medicinal plant workshop

Pune: The Botany Department of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) recently organised a workshop on the plantation and processing of medicinal plants. 

A total of 27 people participated in this workshop.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr KN Dhumal of the Department of Botany, who also inaugurated the workshop, guided the participants on the plantation of medicinal plants. 

Girish Gandhi of Manikarnika Medical Store, Convener of the workshop Dr Digambar Mokat, Suresh Umap of Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and many others were present for the workshop.

In this workshop, participants were trained in recognising medicinal plants, their plantation, rare medicinal plants, their conservation, etc.
 
The participants were also trained in building a medicinal plants park, different techniques of the plantation and so on.
